Grand: The Autobiography of Gromit announcements
A close second to the Lego set (which arrived last week!), the thing I’m most excited about this year is the release of the book Grand: The Autobiography of Gromit By Nick Park. I pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced. As a typewriter fan, the first thing that struck me about the cover was Gromit using a typewriter, and I loved the social media posts (like this Instagram reel that were shared some details behind the scenes, which showed the typewriter scene from multiple angles!
I was doubly excited when I learned via Aardman’s Instagram (and ultimately articles like this one from The Guardian: Gromit finally gets a voice … and it’s Martin Freeman) this week that the audio book will be voiced by Martin Freeman! It always brings a smile to my face when I see him acting in something, and while I don’t do a lot of audio books, this might be one I have to grab.
Shifting over to Shaun the Sheep for a moment, my family went to see Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom a few days after it landed in theaters here in the US, and it didn’t disappoint! It may actually be my favorite Shaun the Sheep movie, but we’ll see how I feel once the excitement wears down.
Finally, with the holidays coming up in a few months, the Gromit Unleashed shop has some great new arrivals! If you’re like me, buy early, since shipping to the US can often take a few weeks.
